Sue Moore trained as a Clinical Aromatherapist with the Clare Maxwell-Hudson School in London and has treated people suffering from strokes, MS, arthritis, cancer and stress-related conditions. Sue is a member of the Guild of Complimentary Practioners. She has been practising aromatherapy and remedial massage for four years. Her qualifications include an ITEC and a CMH DIP in Clinical Aromatherapy. She is a member of ISPA.

An Interview with Sue Moore

Why did you choose to become an aromatherapist?

I have always been interested in complimentary therapies and after deciding on a change of career I trained as a massage therapist and from there it seemed logical to add Aromatherapy.

What is Aromatherapy?
A truly holistic therapy not just treating the symptoms of an ailment but seeks to find the cause by taking account of the clients medical history, allergies, lifestyle, eating patterns, relationships, etc.

How can Aromatherapy help?
A professional aromatherapist will choose the appropriate oils for you after a consultation. Ailments such as IBS, Migraine, PMT, the menopause, skin complaints and insomnia can be helped with aromatherapy massage as can muscular discomfort and painful joints caused by rheumatism and arthritis.

What role does massage play in connection with it?
As well as providing general relaxation massage can also bring relief to stiff and aching muscles, aid digestion, improve circulation, ease tension headaches and improve sleep patterns.

Which essential oil is you personal favourite?
Bergamot, I love its freshness and is wonderful for freshening stale air in rooms, just add a few drops to water in a plant spray, mixed with lavender and neroli it makes a lovely massage oil.
